Thumped Silhouettes

I LOVE Thumping!! Thumping is a fabulous technique to use with silhouettes, so when I received Anna Wight's new Wildflower Silhouette (Whipper Snapper Designs) images, I knew I had to thump. And did I ever thump away. This has got to be the absolute easiest techniques to use. There are no mistakes. All you do is color your image with a water based marker (I used Stampin' Up!), and with a darker color tap around your image randomly. You can even use more than two colors like I did on the Mexican Hat flower. After you have the image inked up to your specification, spritz it a couple of times with an Extrafine Mister (I use Judikins...it's my favorite) and stamp! That's it....so easy. I added a bit of sparkle with Crystal Ultrafine Glitter (Art Institute) and my Quickie glue pen to *amp* it up a bit.

Did you notice the Champagne Silky Crushed Ribbon I used at the edge of the image? LOVE that stuff. It's crinkly and wired, and you can make it into any shape you like!! All the ribbon I used on this project is May Arts, and you can get it at Stamper's Dream. Michelle has a ton of new stuff in her store! It really would be worth your while to go check it out!

I used some of the new Kaisercraft dp called Dancing Jewel, along with Wizard Dark Prismatic cs! I really like the plums that are so popular right now! The images were all stamped onto Neenah Natural White cs.

I also created my little circle medallion by punching out a circle of the dp, matted it with a darker cs, and coated it with 3-D Crystal Lacquer.

Now the photo above is of the front of a card holder I designed to fit 4 cards and their envelopes in two pockets on the inside. It stays closed with Basicgrey Magnetic Snaps. They're the tiniest little things, and you hardly know they're there.

Each card has a thumped silhouette on it, May Arts ribbon, and a different Basicgrey button from the Porcelain collection. Each sentiment is from Anna's Blooming Expressions set. What an awesome collection of sentiments, and with fabulous fonts!! I also framed each flower with different Nestability shapes by Spellbinders: Labels I, Labels II, Curved Rectangles, and the Classic Ovals.

The blue and pink ribbon were crinkled up a bit by gently heating them with my heat tool. If you get the tool too close, or hold it there too long, however, you will burn the ribbon. So take your time...go slow.

Sorry this was such a long post. Thanks so much for stopping by.
Sorry I haven't been posting much lately either. I was in Seattle a little over a week ago for 3 days to watch my son compete in swimming for the college he's attending, and I have to head out of state again tomorrow for 3 days. So I've been busy preparing projects while I'm gone, as I did before. That leaves a hole in between times. Not to mention the fact that I got the flu right before I left on the last trip and ended up with bronchitis. So that's slowed me down a bit. Hopefully I'll be able to be a bit more regular. I have projects scheduled periodically this week, so please check regularly.
