I missed the CCEE challenge last week. But this week, I'm back on schedule.
I was in charge of coming up with this month's challenges, and thought I'd start the month off with a really easy sketch that is very open to interpretation. This is what I came up with, based on the sketch found here:
I used an image from the new Whipper Snapper Designs set Friendly Expressions by Anna Wight. The flowers are gorgeous, and the sentiments are fantastic with a wide variety of fonts and sayings. I couldn't fit a sentiment on the outside, so I finished off the inside of my card too.
The flowers are colored with copics and the Birchtone and Frosted Orange Prismatics are ink distressed with Frayed Burlap (Ranger Distress Ink). The flourishes at the top are Doodle Parts Dies (Spellbinders), and the button was ink distressed with Timber Brown (Stazon).
The flower on the inside was made with Papaya Puree Dark (Prismatics), Martha Stewart flower punches and a Pewter Pearl (Kaisercraft).
Don't forget to check out what the other girls did with this sketch. Click HERE to head over to the CCEE Stampers blog. We'd love to have you play along too. Just follow the directions once there.
Edited to add:
I've had a question asked about where I get my papers, and how I distress. If you click on any boldfaced words, it will take you to where I got those specific supplies.
As for the distressing, all I do is ink up a make-up sponge with Ranger Distress Inks and brush it on the edges of the papers. Prismatics (My paper of choice) are textured on one side, and smoother on the other, and take well to the inks!
Hope this helps!
