Peony Love Graduation ~ Power Poppy

Hello and Happy Friday!!  Being that it is Friday, I have a Power Poppy card to share with you using one of the newer digital images called Peony Love.  Now, I kind of broke the rules a bit I think because I don't know of any Peonies that are colored in the brown family, so I should probably explain...Last weekend I had the honor and privilege of taking two Copic certification classes, along with a Flowers class, taught by the super talented and equally as sweet Lori Craig.  In one of the flower samples in our catalog, she colored a Zinnia with these similar colors and I fell in love at first sight.  Now the Zinnia image was larger with a lot more open space, so the look was quite different, but I am happy with the colors on these Peonies as well.

I combined the Peony Love image with a sentiment from the newest digital release set called Seeds of Today since I wanted to make this a graduation card for my niece who recently graduated from college.

The rest is pretty self explanatory.  Except, I must apologize for the bright pink back of the card.  I ink distressed the front pink panel with Antique Linen Distress Ink to vintage it up a bit, and the back didn't look as bright until I began editing.  It has since been distressed too.  ;)

If you haven't already, we'd love to see what you do with this month's Power and Spark challenge.  all you have to do is create a project using one of your favorite Power Poppy flower images.  How hard is that?  Well...unless you're like me, and can not choose one favorite.

Thank you so much for stopping by!  I hope you have a most glorious weekend!!

Watercolored Magnolias ~ Power Poppy

http://powerpoppy.blogspot.com/2016/05/power-spark-challenge-may-flowers.html
Hello my creative friends!!  I've been absent for awhile, but am excited to share my latest Power Poppy card with you!  This month, Katie has challenged us to pick our favorite Power Poppy flower for the Power and Spark Challenge.  Well, that is next to impossible with all the great images Marcy has designed.  Seriously!!  So, I decided to color the Magnolia branch from the Planning for Magnolias set.  I love this image, and thought it would be fun to watercolor it after being embossed with white ep on watercolor paper.  I love how it turned out. I used Gansai Tambi Watercolors by Kurtake.  I'll list the numbers I used below.

The sentiment is from the Clear set called Olive and Oak Expanded Stamp Set.

Here's a close up so you can see the pearl effect.  The Tambi's have metallics included and they really add a fun punch to the image.

Watercolor numbersMagnolias ~ 31, 32, 95 Stems ~ 47, 46, 95 Leaves ~ 51, 95 Background ~ 40, 33

That's it for my project today.  Be sure to check out the following Bloom Brigade blogs for some more incredible inspiration!
Thank you so much for visiting today!  I hope you enjoy a wonderful weekend!
