Re-purposed Window Paned Door with Power Poppy

I am so excited to share today's project with you.  I've been working on it for a little while now.  We just finished some remodeling in our house and one of the rooms was our den where we had a built in entertainment center removed.  It had four window paned doors, and my friend Bernie suggested I keep them and re-purpose them.  Genius!!  So, we took one of the doors, removed the handle and filled in the holes.  It was already green (yes I paint oak and am not ashamed to admit it), so we just added some Graphite and White Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and sanded it to distress it a bit.

Now, I wanted some clear space behind my colored images, so I went to the local glass store and had them create a back panel of glass to hold everything in place.  My dear husband added the Picture Frame Turn Buttons, because man, oak is hard to drill into.  He also added the sweet little glass door knobs I got at Hobby Lobby as well as the brackets on the back to hang this heavy baby up.

So, now about the Power Poppy images.  I decided to use all digital images because I could make them as large as I want.  Each image is approximately 5"x7", and is colored with Copics.  I listed the Copics I used at the bottom of this post.

I usedthe following Power Poppy digital images:  Peonies, French Lilac, Tulips, Gerbera Daisies, and Camellias (Power Poppy Digital)  I took a picture of each panel outside of the windowed frame because the glare would make it hard to see all of Marcella's beautiful details.  For the background, I just scored the cardstock, distressed it, and added some stitching around the borders.

Here's a close-up look at each panel:

Power Poppy Foxgloves

Hello my creative friends!!  Every 15th of the month, Power Poppy releases some new delicious digi images and the Instant Gardner Team showcases them.  Well, this month, the 15th lands on a Friday so members of the Bloom Brigade are joining in.  I am so excited to share this image with y'all today.  I adore bees, and Marcy has included three darling plump bumblebees with this new Bees in Foxglove digital image.  Aren't they just A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E?!?!?!?!

I colored the Bees in Foxglove image with Copics, in a vintage style, thinking it would be a nice contrast to have lavender colored blooms with the yellow/black bumblebees.  The coordinating Foxglove sentiment was printed onto Vellum (PTI).  I colored the background with a mixture of grays and skin tones, although it's hard to see in the photo.  Irl it looks really aged and vintage.

That about sums up my project for today.  Check out what these gals have to share and be prepared to have your minds blown because they all have serious skills!!

Waltzingmouse May Pajama Party

Howdy everyone!!  It's PJ time over at the Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog, and we have 4 awesome inspirational challenges for you!  I used two of the challenges as inspiration:  Man of the Moment and Old Pajamas, which is the set Man of the Hour.

I used one sketch and one technique to make 4 different cards.
For all the cards, I just colored directly onto an acrylic block (Acrylic Stamping) with Tombow markers, misted the block with different amounts of spraying for each pattern, and stamped it onto White Cardstock (PTI).  After they dried, I stamped sentiments from the WMS set Man of the Hour onto them.

For the background above, I misted the block quite heavily to get the colors to blend.

That's it for today's projects.  I hope you join in on the fun.  There is a prize to be won, so head on over to the Waltzingmouse Blog for all the details.

And, that's not all.  I have some very exciting Waltzingmouse news to share.  You can now purchase Waltzingmouse Stamps and dies at Addicted to Rubber stamps.  In fact, the set I used today is available there.  Also, they are having a saleUse the code 'WELCOME' (on the shopping cart page) to receive 10% off the site. Anything that is already on sale will not have additional 10%.

Thanks for stopping by!

  Happy Stamping!
