Flourishes Flip ~ Happy Thoughts

FLIP NEW LOGO -Happy Thoughts SS257-Web-WMHello all! This is an exciting day for Flourishes -- it's the first day folks can shop and qualify for the next fun-filled, money saving club we call (Flourishes Loyalty Incentive Program!)   How do you become a member? Starting TODAY, the next time you go shopping in the Flourishes online boutique and spend $100 on a single purchase (not including taxes or shipping), you will receive this beautiful stamp set called Happy Thoughts! It was penned by artist Sam Pickard and the fabulous sentiments were the creative genius of Dina Kowal! Keep in mind, you can't purchase this set -- the only way you can get your hands on this lovely floral spray of Hydrangeas and these beautifully scripted sentiments is to become a FLIP member!   AND.... that beautiful stamp set is only just the beginning! When you become a FLIP member, it's your pass to BIG SAVINGS!

For my card, I stamped the flowers, with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, onto Cryogen White cs and colored them with Copics.  I started with BG 11 in the center, then worked my way from the outside of the petals using BG02 and BG01.  Lastly I added some V01 to the outside and V000 over that to give the soft violet tones.  The stems were colored with YG93.  For the flower centers, I used an Ice White Pearl Pen.

A Waltzingmouse Stamps Pajama Party Challenge

Waltzingmouse Stamps is having a Pajama Party, and you're invited.  Each month Waltzingmouse Stamps will host a Pajama Party including challenges and a sketch to get those creative juices flowing.  And there are prizes too.  By participating, you could win store credit.  And one lucky participant will will be invited to be a guest DT member for a future release.  There are 4 challenges this month, including the sketch to the right.  You can find all the challenge details HERE.

I included 3 of the challenges in my card:  the flowers and sentiment are from the sets You're a Doll and You're a Doll Additions. I also created my own background and used the sketch.

I put my sentiment along the bottom instead of the angled panel.  Hopefully I didn't break the rules too badly.  :(

Well that's it for me today.  I hope you've been inspired to join our Pajama Party.
Thanks so much for stopping by!!
Happy Stamping!

Flourishes SIX for SIX challenge

BirthdayCelebration-5Hi all and welcome to the 5th Challenge in Flourishes 6th Birthdy Celebration!!!  Today the entire Flourishes Design Team is jumping on the birthday band wagon and helping Flourishes light the candles and roll the music to celebrate SIX fun-filled, creative years! Today's challenge is all about the right recipe for your cards. So, all you need to do is check out our recipe card below and make sure you use all six items. We're calling this challenge -- The SIX for SIX -- six items for six years!

I used the beautiful Dahlias set that was just recently released.  I thought it would look beautiful with the color inspiration.  The back panel was embossed with a Sizzix embossing folder and the images were stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  I colored them with Copics, added a Sparklet (Kaisercraft) to the required ribbon, and a bit more bling with some rhinestones and glitter.  You can never have too much bling...Am I right?!?!  :)
We'd love to have you play along,  so, without further ado -- the recipe!
7-26GraphicHOW TO PLAY: Like we said, simply use the six items as your recipe for your card or creation. Make sure to use the sketch and be inspired by the colors in the inspiration photo and then, use the other four items as well when you create. This Birthday Celebration Challenge is just that simple! When you are done with your card, don't forget to link up your creation HERE using the Inlinkz widget! For Birthday Celebration Challenge #5, enter as many times as you like. If you upload to Splitcoaststampers, use the keyword FLLCBC5. You have until 11:59 PM CST on July 31st to enter! Winners will be announced Saturday, August 3rd and winners will receive a goody bag from Flourishes valued at $30! There’s a whole bunch of fun scheduled for Flourishes 6th Birthday — if you want a peek at all the challenges, just click HERE to see! 3x3 Summer Treat Cards with Box

We know you loved our July Releases and all the fun summer ideas you now have for them...but we thought we'd show you one more round of creative projects today with our favorites, because that's always so fun for us!  Before I share my project with you, I want to take a minute to let you know that the Designer Focus is on Heather this week over on the Flourishes Blog.  CASE one of her cards, link it over at the Flourishes Blog, and you'll be entered to win a Flourishes Goodie Bag filled with stamps and goodies from the store.

For this week's Timeless Tuesday, Jenny challenged everyone to make mini-cards: (3) 3 x 3's.  I LOVE making small cards so I couldn't wait to make mine.  Unfortunately I didn't have time earlier in the week, so I thought I'd share the mini's I made, using Pinwheels and Popsicles, with you here, along with a coordinating box.

I just stamped the images with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, colored them with Copics and added a bit of sparkle with some glitter and my "go to" Quickie Glue Pen.  The background here is just Washi Tape.

More Copic coloring, glitter and Washi Tape.  :)

I framed the cake here a bit differently.  It's a larger image so it took up more of the card.

See how perfectly the cards fit inside?

For the box top, I dicut a circle and then put a square on the inside and embossed it to get the scored edges for the perfect rounded flaps on each side.  I then embossed the circle using an embossing folder, and used some card stock tabs (with Scor-Tape on them) to adhere the sides since it was diecut it didn't have any tabs to adhere the sides together.  The base is just your standard box base.

For the flower top, I just took my Spellbinders Sunflower Set 2 dies and diecut 3 of each of the two sizes, curled the leaves a bit and added a black and yellow button.

That's finally it for today's project.  I hope you were able to stick with this long post.

If you haven't seen the rest of the DT's projects, be sure to pay them a visit.  You won't want to miss their inspiring projects!

Happy Birthday Flourishes Challenges!!

Flourishes is turning 6!!  And starting today, there's going to be a series of challenges for the next 2 weeks in celebration.  The official anniversary is July 27th and up until that day -- we are going to have a blast honoring each and every one of those years!

Today's challenge is being hosted by Allison, on the Flourishes blog, and she wants drama in "Black and White".  I thought it would be fun to use the newly released Anemones images with the beautiful sentiment "With tender prayers for your hurting hearts".  It was all stamped with Tuxedo Black Ink (Memento).  I embossed the base panel with a Swirly Sizzix Embossing Folder, and I made the flower using the two smallest Grand Peony Creations dies by Spellbinders.  I used Black Seam Binding for the trim along with a Martha Stewart Border punch, and finished it off with a little sparkle with some Star Dust Stickles and an itty bitty rhinestone.

For some more B/W inspiration, check out a few of the other DT members' blogs:  Cindy, Heather, and Maki

Now, we'd love for you to join us in celebrating and here's how: Check out the
Flourishes blog for all the details.

Happy Stamping!!
