Free for All Friday with BorderWe’re delighted to bring you another Friday round of creations with the Senior Design Team at Flourishes! Today we’re getting in the cozy Christmas mood and showing off to you all that’s beautiful about the holidays at Flourishes, you’ll see some of our beautiful newer offerings for the season and some of our equally lovely past sets too.

I decided to use the Paperwhites set today.  I love the elegance and simplicity of it.  This card came together quite quickly.  I just stamped the image with Tuxedo Black Memento ink, colored it with a few Copics and framed it with a detailed die.  Simple, yet elegant.  I added glitter to the flowers too, but with all the white, it's hard to see in a photo.

Time to be inspired for one of our favorite times to create cards for others! Stop on by and see our cozy Christmas today!

Flourishes Halloween Sale!!

I have a super simple, quick card to share with you today. It takes very little time to make, yet, I think the effect really makes it pop. I used the wheat image from the Autumn Blessings set. Let me tell you, if you haven't snatched up this set yet, you're missing out. It has to be one of my favorites, for three reasons: 1. It's charming and rustic (right up my alley) 2. It's so versatile. It has detailed and simple images. There are no limits. 3. It has Fall images...hello...that is the absolute best season ever!! okay.... 4. There's a milk can in it. I am married to a dairy farmer after all. ;)

Anyway, all I did to make this card, was stamp the wheat, with Versamark, onto Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock, and embossed it with Clear EP. I then inked up the whole panel with 3 different Ranger Distress Inks: Wild Honey (the whole panel), Vintage Photo (Up to and covering a little of the wheat), and Walnut Stain (Just around the edges). I then matted my main panel with Espresso Truffle from the Color Made Easy ~ Rich Browns set. Lastly I inked up the sentiment using Rich Cocoa and Tuxedo Black Memento inks. Easy Peasy. I thought the sentiment fit perfectly with the plain wheat image.

Now, you so need to check this out!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRISTINE!

Join me,along with members of the Flourishes family, today and share some fabulous birthday inspirations, many happy celebratory birthday wishes, and maybe even a slice of cyber cake.

My card may not look like your typical birthday card, but I wanted to use the set Bees and Blooms for two reasons.  One, it felt rustic, and two it had the perfect sentiment to fit Christine:  "be-you-tiful"

Let me explain:  This past summer, I had the distinct honor of meeting Christine, and her lovely family, in Montana.  Our backdrop was quite rustic, and spending a few days with them, I soon found out what a treasure they all are.  They're all warm, caring, and super fun.  And Christine, is just as lovely on the inside as she is on the out.  True Blue!!  This card isn't a super detailed card, but it was made with love!  Happy Birthday my friend!!

Here are the links to the products I used today:

Tuxedo Black Memento Ink
Classic Kraft Cardstock
Copics

Flourishes Free for all Friday

Hello and welcome to Friday!  Today the Flourishes Senior Design Team is pulling out some of our sets that are on the overstock or retiring list and giving them a new spin! We always love when we can do that, because it makes you fall in love with those sets all over again
I'm excited to share the card I made using the All that Glitters set, along with a sentiment from this month's release Winter Berries.    Unfortunately, today is proof that the retired sets are going fast.  By the time I went to link the All that Glitters stamp set in my post, it was gone.  Flourishes does have a another ornament set though called Holiday Sparkle.

I used the clip-on bird because I decorate my tree with ones that are almost exactly the same.  And mine are red, so naturally I colored my bird red and added some glitter to it, along with the pine boughs, with a Quickie Glue pen and some Ultra Fine Prisma glitter.

The beautiful paper I used, is So This is Christmas by Carta Bella. and the mats are from the Color Made Easy Pistachio Paper Collection.  I also used a couple of Flourishes dies:  Perfectly Pierced Classic Frames Template, and Classic Window Template, along with a tree from Cottage Cutz's Rustic Sign and Trees die set.  I inked up the background using Tumbled Glass and Shabby Shutters Ranger Distress Inks, and punched a border using a EK Success punch.  Lastly I added a couple of Sequins (Teresa Collins) to the upper right corner for a little more bling.

Here are the links to the Copics I used:

Now we invite you to take a trip on over to the rest of the Design Team to see what they have up their creative sleeves today:

Please be sure to give some extra love for our lovely Designer Maki Jones…Maki is taking a break from the design team and we’ll miss her very much while she’s gone! She’s such a talented lady who has treated us to some amazing and creative designs these last few years on the Timeless Tuesday Team and the Senior Design Team. We send big hugs out to Maki!

Waltzingmouse October Pajama Party

To see my Flourishes post, click HERE.

It's time for another Waltzingmouse Stamps Pajama Party and we have a wonderful variety of challenges for you. If you decide to join us in the fun, you'll have an opportunity to win some store credit. For all the details, click HERE

For my first project, I made a card fitting the Bedtime Story sketch, and the Art Deco challenge.  I used the diamonds from the Art Deco Backgrounds set, and the sentiment and medallion from the Art Deco Sentiments Set.  I'm in love with anything turquoise and aqua lately, so I used Versamagic's Sea Breeze as my pop of color.  along with some rhinestones and bling from Pizzazz Aplenty.

I LOVE, seriously LOVE Claire's Halloween images!!  They're always so fun and inspirational.  I thought it would be fun to combine the spooky church image, (from the All Hallows Eve set), with the Spooky Tree Backgrounder.  I had these wonderfully fun diecut images by Cottage Cutz, and thought they would work beautifully with these images.  I'm really happy with how this Easel card turned out.

This card fits under the Greenish Halloweenish challenge.

All the shapes were diecut out of Vintage Cream cardstock and ink distressed using the following Ranger Distress inks:

Background:  Shabby Shutters, Forest Moss, Black Soot
Pillars and Sign Placard:  Pumice Stone, Black Soot
Lights:  Mustard Seed, Dried Marigold, Pumice Stone
Fence, Sign Base and Crow:  Black Soot
Pumpkins:  Dried Marigold, Rusty Hinge, Black Soot, Pine Needle, Forest Moss, Gathered Twigs
Branch:  Gathered Twigs
Grass: Crushed Olive, Pine Needle, Forest Moss
Cobwebs: Pumice Stone

For the card Easel base, I stamped the "Nevermore" sentiment with Versamark, embossed it with white embossing powder and sponged Crushed Olive and Black Soot Distress Ink over it so it wasn't so bright.

Here's a close up of the "greetings" sign.  I added a little punched bat to it too.  :)

The background was created using one of the All Hallows Eve images.  And the fence is a Spooky Iron Fence by Cottage Cutz.

That's it for me today.  Be sure to stop by the Waltzingmouse Makes Blog for more inspiration, and for all the PJ rules.
Thanks for stopping by!
Happy Stamping!

Flourishes Free for all Friday

The Senior Design Team is back today with another round of beauties created with our October Release Stamp sets. It's our chance to show them off some more while you can still purchase the October Stamp Bundle at a discount! Today is the last day the dscount is available and we don't want you to miss out!

I decided to use the Handmade Snowflake set today because...well, just because I LOVE snowflakes and I love winter.  I stamped the flakes with Cloud White VersaMagic ink onto Flourishes Classic Kraft Cardstock.  I then designed a long box, 1 1/4" x 3/4" x 8", to fit some Cow Tales (the spelling is correct) inside for a sweet little precocious friend of mine.  Now before you freak out, Cow Tales are a caramel candy stick with vanilla cream inside, and they are delicious.  Being dairy farmers, I think it's fun to share this sweet treat with others.  I used two new Spellbinders Snowflake dies to accent the pieces.  They work beautifully with the Flourishes Handmade Snowflake images.

I usually hide my staples by stapling the background piece to the cellophane bag first and adding the top panel afterwards, but I forgot to, and I wanted to get this in the mail yesterday, so there you have it...you can see my staples... :(

I wanted to have some embellishments hanging from the snowflake, so I used one of the Tailor-Made Classic Tags Template dies.  I stamped the "My Friend" sentiment (from the Passion Flower Flourishes set) with Versamark, and embossed it with silver embossing powder.

That's it for my project today.  Now hop on over to see what lovely creations everyone else has in store for you today:

Thanks so very much for dropping by.  I hope you have a blessed weekend!
Happy Stamping!

Flourishes October Release

Well dear stamping friends, the sneaks are over and we're taking the lid off Flourishes' October Release! Are you ready to see all three of these sets in their full glory? Well, they are all live, right now, in the Flourishes store HERE!

Now on to our final offering, one that is a gorgeous display of botanical beauty!  It's called Star of Bethlehem and is named after the stars that lit the way for the birth of Jesus.  This beautiful star-shaped flower embraces a meaning of purity, hope and happiness. Illustrated by Marcella Hawley, this set offers a beautiful and sweet scented way to ring in the Christmas season. This 4 by 6" set also offers four scripted sentiments perfect for your seasonal creations!

I used the circular image in this set to create an ornament using the 2013 Heirloom Ornament die by Spellbinders.  These flowers are white with a brilliant green center, so I just highlighted them using the following Copic Markers:  T1, T7 (centers),  YG11 and YG13 for the bud in center, Y06 and YG13 for the stamens.  I then added a bit of sparkle using a Quickie Glue pen and some Prisma Glitter.

I used Palo Verde cardstock, from the Evergreen Color Made Easy collection to mat the sentiment and the back panel, and lastly, I sewed around the borders and attached a little sentiment flag to the bottom with a Library Clip.  That about sums up my card for today.  I hope you've been inspired by all the previews.  I know the other DT members have inspired me with their creative projects.  For more inspiration, check this out:

Flourishes is also unveiling something else...... just in time for Christmas!
