I wanted to make some candy bag toppers for 4th of July this year since I've found some fun patriotic themed candies.  I used the USA 1776 set, and started by making a rosette, for this first package of Gummy Bears, and included a mini-star embossed background and one of my favorite sentiments in this set.  I love what it stands for and how Claire fonted it.

Okay, aren't these candles just the sweetest!!!  I LOVE them, and thought they would go beautifully on the packaging of these super fun twizzlers.  I framed them with the star frame image and added the "Happy 4th" sentiment along the side.  I also added a bit of sparkle cause that's what this holiday has a lot of.  :)

Tip:  If you'd like the staples hidden, as I have on this package, just staple the base (Mine is white), then adhere a decorative panel to the top to hide them.

Waltzingmouse May Release Previews ~ Day 3

 

It's day 3 of our Waltzingmouse Stamps Previews and today we're showing just how versatile these sets are.  Today we're combining the sets Country Labels 4 and USA 1776.

 

The sentiment is framed with a charming dotted Country Labels 4 image, and I added the leaves with a button center underneath.

(I noticed, while editing the photo, that my music in the background is upside ...shhhhhh....sorry for not catching that earlier.)

 

I wanted to show that the star isn't limited to a patriotic theme, but is quite versatile in its own right.  So I embossed the stripes with white embossing powder onto some dp and layered it onto a white piece.  I just traced the outside of the star die to get a 1/8" larger piece to back the dp with, and diecut a smaller star for the center.

I love this dotted circle frame with the blanket stitching.  It's so homey, so I thought I'd add it to the bottom of my hanging with the "Give Thanks" sentiment inside.

Waltzingmouse May Release Previews ~ Day 2

What a humbling day. I'd like to start off by thanking all the men, women and families that sacrifice so much for me and my family's safety and freedoms.   We are all so blessed because of the sacrifices of so many.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Now, let me share with you some cards with a patriotic theme, in honor of the men and women who serve this great country so bravely!

For today's Waltzingmouse Stamps preview, we are showcasing a set today called USA 1776, and it has a wonderful variety of images to help us celebrate our Independence Day.  Claire has truly thought of everything!  I can't stop the ideas from flowing!!

For my first card I made a dimensional star using two of the star point images that fit beautifully in the Spellbinders Star die.  I also included one of the sentiments along the bottom.

For this next card I took a CAS approach and included a collage of images.  I stamped the Statue of Liberty with Aloe Vera VersaMagic ink, and the fireworks were stamped with coordinating colors with glitter adhered to them using a Quickie Glue Pen.  I LOVE the 1776 Independence circle stamp, so I wanted to include that with the sentiment too.

Here's a close-up of the fireworks.  There are 4 different sizes and each one has a different pattern.  I have to say, the stars are my favorite.

Lastly, yet another CAS.  I can't help myself.  They're so fun and showcase the images beautifully.  I just laid some Washi Tape on the background for stripes, stamped the "Happy July 4th" sentiment with Onyx Black Versafine, and added some stars using Night Sky VersaMagic.  I finished it off with a couple of rounded corners and some rhinestones.

Waltzingmouse May Release Previews ~ Day 1

Welcome to the first day of Waltzingmouse Stamps Previews!!  Today we're featuring a sweet release called Country Labels 4, and it's just full of darling images and sentiments that can be used for a whole lot of occasions!  My brother just moved into a new house, so I thought it would be fun to stamp one house in the neighborhood red, and put the sentiment in a negative heart space.  Wow...after reading the word "negative" that sounds a bit odd...(grin)...don't worry though, I love my brother dearly and he has no idea what a "negative heart space" is.   LOL

For my second card I went a bit shabby chic using two of the labels images in this set.  They're compatible with Spellbinders' Labels 4 die and they're super charming.  Notice the sweet patterns?  I layered two of the different sizes and stamped the darling sun image using Sugarcane VersaMagic Chalk Ink.  The back label was stamped with Aspen Mist VersaMagic, and the front label and sentiment were stamped using Smokey Gray Versafine.

Kreat-a-Lope Product Review

I am so excited to share a fabulous product with you today.  A few weeks ago, Nick Romer emailed me asking if I would do a Product review on an envelope template, that he has patented, called the Kreate-a-Lope.  Now, I can count on one hand how many times I've made coordinating envelopes for my cards because I'm too impatient to measure and line things up.  So, I thought why not.  If this template would make things easier, how much fun would it be to make envelopes that matched my cards.  

Well, let me tell you this....I highly recommend the Kreate-a-Lope!!  I made 4 envelopes in no time at all, and they're perfect.  The Kreate-a-Lope is super fun, easy, and a new "go-to" tool of mine.  Click on the Kreate-a-Lope badge to the left, at the bottom of this post, or on my sidebar, to see a demonstration of how easy it is to use.  There are currently two sizes: A2 and A7, and I'll show you envelopes I made using each.

I made my envelopes really simple this time, but promise to share some more with stamping on them in the near future.  For this envelope I used Kraft- Core cardstock.  I embossed the top flap, and sanded the raised surface and the envelope edges.  I LOVE the look it gives and I think it goes beautifully with my card.

By the way, I made the card using the Waltzingmouse stamp set Compact Sentiments Part Two.  The flower was made with Pink Jute String (Really Reasonable Ribbon), that has a felted wool pom-pom cut in half for the center.  The vertical stripes are Washi Tape.

I made this envelope using the Vintage Shabby Paper Stack by Tim Holtz, and the label was created using the Decorative Labels Eight die by Spellbinders.  This envelope is an A7 size and measures 5" x 7 1/8".

Okay, I hand deliver a lot of my cards, and thought it would be fun to make a vellum envelope so you can get a hint of what's inside.  Again, I just embossed the top flap because I wanted to make sure the front of the card is showing through the front of the envelope.

For my last envelope, I created a masculine A2 size using the Waltzingmouse Stamps image Cabin Plaid Backgrounder.  The stamp image fit perfectly inside the envelope template window.  I just cut out a rectangle of cardstock (for the label space), laid it over the stamp and inked it all up.  I then removed the rectangle piece of cardstock and stamped the envelope using the window of the template as my guideline.  SO EASY!!  I then ink distressed the edges using some Black Soot (Ranger Distress Ink)

Here's a look at all 4 envelopes that I made "lickety-split".  

I highly recommend this template!!  I can assure you I will be using it often.

For the Love of Patriotism and Service

Welcome to Our Daily Bread Design's Alumni feature of For the Love of Patriotism and Service!! This month the Alumni team will be sharing creations made with sets that focus on Love of Patriotism and Service!!

I chose to use two sets:  In God We Trust and God Bless America

I made my first card CAS (Clean And Simple) because I like the silhouette of the eagle head and I LOVE this Stars Embossing Folder by Cuttlebug.

I added some score lines, one single rhinestone, and a rounded corner, along with the wonderful sentiment in Onyx Black (Versafine)

My second card has a few more details.  ;)

I stamped the flag image with Versamark onto Watercolor paper, embossed it with Black EP and watercolored it with my Tombow Markers.

I diecut a star inside a star, scored the points to make them 3-Dimensional, and distressed all the edges with Vintage Photo and Black Soot Ranger Distress Ink.

Here you can see the dimension a bit better.  I also added a few rhinestones for a bit of sparkle, and some Stardust Stickles to the stars on the Flag.
