Waltzingmouse December Release Hop ~ Day 3

Welcome to Day 3 of the Waltzingmouse December Release Hop!!

Today we're featuring a fabulous versatile Christmas set called Ornate Ornaments.  I have two projects to share with you today.

First are these fun little tags.  I had the absolute hardest time photographing these little babies due to the dark centers and the embossed white bg.  So I finally just photographed them on my desk.

This set has such fun little sentiments to go with go with the word "don't".  I thought it would be fun to make a stop sign shape using a Octagon die (Spellbinders).   I used a die from Creative Page Tabs (Spellbinders) for the top, and a white Poster-Paint Sharpie for the checkmarks.

Here's a close up of the white panel.  I embossed it using a quickutz embossing folder to make it look a bit like beadboard in the bg.

This set has 4 gorgeous ornate ornaments included in it too.  (I have two elegant ornament tags to share tomorrow...which is release day by-the-way....Woo-Hoo)

I chose to make a victorian themed card using the image designed to go with Spellbinders' 2011 Heirloom Ornament die.  Isn't it gorgeous?  I stamped it with Smokey Gray Versafine, and added some crystal glitter to the ornate pattern around the sentiment.  Both sentiments are included in this set too.  It's a very versatile set, as you can see.

That's it for today.  Be sure to hop tomorrow too.  It's release day, and the team has some fantastic inspirational projects to share with you!!

Happy Stamping!!

Waltzingmouse December Release Hop ~ Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of the Waltzingmouse December Release Hop!!

Today we're featuring two new sets:  My Heart and Woodenheart Alphabet

My Heart is a charming wood grained set filled with lovely images that can be used for weddings, Valentine's Day, Anniversaries, or any friend or loved one.  I chose to make a Valentine's Day card for my husband.  Thus the masculine look again.  I Rock~n~Rolled the heart using Pearlescent Beige and Coffee Bean (Brilliance).  All the leaves and the banner were inked with Pearlescent Olive and Coffee Bean (Brilliance), using the same technique.

The numbers are from the Woodenheart Alphabet set.  The date is the year we got married and was Rock~n~Rolled with Coffee Bean (Brilliance) and Onyx Black (Versafine).  I thought about putting our initials in the heart, but that's as far as I got...because our initials are "E"and "T".  I can't help but thinking about "phoning home" every time I put our initials together.  LOL

I inked the Woodgrain Backgrounder with Latte (a muse), stamped it on ivory cs, and embossed it with a Wood grain embossing folder by Sizzix.  I then sanded it and inked some Waltnut Stain (Ranger Distress) a bit over the raised portions.  Lastly, I added some Natural Burlap String (May Arts), a Button and an EK Success punched border.

That's it for today's project.  Be sure to visit all the other participating DT blogs.  You won't want to miss a stop.

And, a little reminder that a few of the DT will be hopping after the release also.  Claire will have the list on her blog when the time gets closer.

Waltzingmouse December Release Hop ~ Day 1

Welcome to Day 1 of the Waltzingmouse December Release Hop!!  Once again, Claire has come up with some fabulous inspiring sets and I can't wait to share with you how they've inspired me.

Today we're featuring a fun new set called Woodgrain Backgrounder, and I have two cards to share with you today.

Man am I loving this set.  I actually used every image in the set on 3 cards.  4 of them on the card below.  Super fun and versatile.

For my first card, I combined the Woodgrain Backgrounder (Chevrons) set with Faux Fun Circles (Wreath), Bright Season (Holly) and Very Vintage Christmas (Sentiment).  See the chevrons?  Love them!!  Talk about super fun!!

I have a nephew who's birthday is right before Christmas, so I used Woodgrain Backgrounder to make a masculine birthday card.

I started off by inking up the woodgrain background with French Roast ink (a muse), and cut it into three panels.  I then inked it with Walnut Stain (Ranger Distress Ink), to age it and make the panels more pronounced.

I then inked the red hexagon, using a "rock~n~roll" technique, with Red Brick and Jumbo Java (VersaMagic).  I masked off the edges and stamped the cactus scene image, from Way Out West, with Smokey Gray (Versafine), and added a birthday sentiment from the Back in the Saddle set.

The flag was stamped with Vintage Cream (PTI), and the nail heads were inked with Onyx Black (Versafine)

Here's the hop list:
Tosha Leyendekker  (you are here)

A few of the DT members will continue the hop on the 3rd, 4th and 5th.  So the inspiration will just keep coming!!  :)

You're the bee's knees!

I loved this week's Waltzingmouse Sketch so much that I had to make another card using it with the WMS set Compact Sentiments ~ Part Two and the dp Now & Then by Teresa Collins.  I collect Bee Skeps, so it's no surprise that I love the sentiment "You're the bee's knees", and the dp had a page of bees....perfect!

Hope you're week is off to a great start!  Be sure and check back often.  There's a release brewing and I can't wait to share the new images with you!

Happy Stamping!

A Shabby Chic Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge

I loved the Waltzingmouse Sketch for this week, and the Mischief Makers are quite inspiring!!
I used 4 different sets on this card, but it came together rather quickly once I decided what I wanted to do:  Cabin Plaid Backgrounder (Right Banner), Holiday Labels No. 14 (Frame), Vintage Garden Seed Packet (Thank You), and Gingham and Co. (Left Banner)

The Cabin Plaid was stamped with Shell (a muse) pigment ink and I'm afraid it was next to impossible to photograph.  But, irl, it's really soft and pretty.

For the base, I inked up the negative side of a woodgrain embossing folder (Sizzix), with Latte pigment ink (amuse).  I love the soft distressed look it gave.

That about sums up today's card.  Be sure to check out the WMS Sketch Challenge.  We'd love to see your take on the sketch!!

Happy Stamping!

Viva la Verve Week 4

Teresa has a sweet Viva la Verve sketch designed for this week.  Check it out HERE.

I used the Peace On Earth set.  I thought this sentiment fit beautifully centered in the Resplendent Rectangles Spellbinders die.

I added some Martha Stewart Punched Holly Leaves, some Zva Creative Rhinestones, ribbon and button.  Pretty easy peasy.

Hope you had a fabulous week, and that those of you who celebrated Thanksgiving are too stuffed and miserable today!  :)

Happy Stamping!

ODBD For the Love of Gift Giving Hop

Before I get to today's ODBD Hop, let me start by wishing all my friends in the United States a very happy and blessed Thanksgiving.  I realize there are always rough patches in our lives each year, but today is a special reminder to look for and be thankful for our blessings.  I have many, but at the top of the list is God, who brings me through the rough patches and shares all my joys, my husband who provides so well and is a constant strength, and my 2 kids who bring me joy each and every day just by being the wonderful young adults God created them to be!!

Now, onto the hop.....

Welcome to Our Daily Bread Design's Alumni Team's bi-monthly For the Love Blog Hop.  This week the Alumni team along with some of the ODBD designers are featuring a hop For the Love of Gift Giving! Check out each link and leave a comment. If you get lost along the way, check the ODBD blog for full list of links.  One of the post is a hop hot spot and a name will be drawn from that list of comments to win a $15 ODBD store gift certificate.  So, all you have to do is hop along and see all the creations and leave a little love!  You have until Wednesday, December, 5th at 6 pm.
This theme can be interpreted in a few ways.  One....you can actually make a gift to give to someone using ODBD stamps.  You can make tags to place on gifts for Christmas, or you can also make gift giving packing possibilities.  Do not forget ornaments and sweet confections as well.
Enjoy all the beautiful designs featuring For the Love of Gift Giving!

If you've arrived here from Silke's blog, you're on the right track.  So here's how I interpreted the challenge.

I had the privilege of attending a fabulous vintage art retreat two weeks ago (Pasadena, CA), called "A Gilded Life Spellbound Event" , with my dear, and uber talented friend,  Linda Duke, and was greatly inspired!!  Most of the classes involved jewelry making and soldering (way out of my box...lol), but they inspired me to put on "my vintage hat" for this project.  There are quite a bit of details on this tag, and I won't give a lengthy description, so all my supplies will be listed at the bottom.

What I want to make sure you notice, though, are the two poinsettias.  They are from the Blessed Christmas set and Poinsettia Tag set respectively.  I colored them both with copics and ink distressed them with Spun Sugar Ranger Distress Ink.  They are both layered also with some Halo Silver Mix (Stampendous) added to their centers.

The background (or base) of the tag was diecut with Labels 17 (Spellbinders), and the flourished circle behind the larger poinsettia is from the Spellbinders die set Venetian Motifs.  I added a design element from that die set to the top too, but it's basically covered with embellishments and is hard to see.

I embossed the tag base with a holly embossing folder by Sizzix and brushed some Silver Pearl Ex using Versamark as my Base.

Here you can see the tiny Tag Poinsettia and the charming spray of leaves the image provides.  Oh, btw..the poinsettia images were stamped with Pumice Stone Ranger Distress Ink.

Here's a close up of the banner running across the tag.  The sentiment, from the Blessed Christmas set, was embossed with Silver Embossing Powder.

That about sums up all the major stamping details of this tag.  The embellishments will all be listed below.

Next up on the hop is the sweet and talented Betty!!!

Here are the ODBD sets I used:

Happy Thanksgiving my friends!!

November WMS Blog Party

It's that time of the month again!!  :)   Are you ready to party Waltzingmouse style?
The 17th of each month Waltzingmouse has a Blog Party and you're invited to join along.  All you have to do is create a card using Waltzingmouse Stamps and the month's theme, then link it to their blog found HERE.

This month's theme is Gratitude.  I don't know about you, but I find every year that I don't have enough Christmas themed thank you cards or notes.  Crazy since that's the time of year people tend to receive the most gifts.  So, I made a winter themed Thank You card using 4 Waltzingmouse sets:  Nordic Winter, Opera Tags, Blessed by You, and Compliments of the Season Two.

I framed the sentiment "for you" (from the set Compliments of the Season) with a tag image from the Opera Tags set.  The background panel was created using images from Nordic Winter, and "Thankful" is from the Blessed by You set.

Here's a close up of the tags and Nordic images.  I love how they look on the gray Bazzill cardstock.  It reminds me of a cozy sweater or pj's.  :)

Viva la Verve ~ Merry Christmas CAS

Janelle has designed a fabulously fun sketch for the Viva la Verve Sketch Challenge this week.  I combined sentiments from the two Verve sets Joyous Noel and Merry and Bright, as well as the Ribbon Banner Die and the poinsettia from the Joyous Noel set.

I embossed the bg using a Holly Sizzix Embossing Folder, and made some Scored lines along the horizontal panel using my Scor-Buddy.

Pretty CAS and straight forward.  Be sure to check out the Viva la Verve Sketch Challenge.  You could win some beautiful Verve sets.

Hope you had a fantastic week and are looking forward to a fun weekend!!
Happy Stamping!!

Now for today’s project.

I fell in love with the floral images, from Melanie's Stately Flowers 5 set, the minute I saw them.  It was the Sunflower that caught my attention first since it's my favorite flower.  However, when I saw the mistletoe image I about swooned.  :)  It's beautiful and charming, and unique.  I couldn't wait to feature it on a card.  The sentiments are so beautifully fonted in this set too, perfect for each floral image.  I chose to use the Merry Christmas image.

There's a lot of sparkle on this card.  I added it to the diecut, embossed and punched pieces, as well as to the white berries that I covered with an opaque white gel pen.  The mistletoe leaves were colored with Copics.

That about sums up what I was inspired to create today.  I'm honored to be hopping along with some very talented ladies today.

Gift Bag Topper ~ Winter Wishes

Hello my friends!  I have another Gift Bag Topper to share with you.  I made a few of these last year too.  They're so easy and it's like giving a gift inside a gift...kwim?  (Gift Bag Topper Tutorial)  In my previous post I made some little felt goody bags, and I didn't want to transport them in a plastic baggy or plain 'ole paper bag.  So I doctored a handled paper bag up a bit using some beautiful images from the Verve set Holiday Greetings.

I love the beautifully elegant snowflakes in this set and thought they'd look fabulous adorning to top of my bag topper.  I also added the itty-bitty stars.  I added some Washi Tape to the border, along with some fabulous sparkly icicles that I punched using a Martha Stewart Punch.

Isn't this chevron tree just super awesome?!?!  I stamped it with Fresh Snow (a muse) and with my Quickie Glue Pen, I added some Crystal Glitter to the Cheveron centers.  I colored the pot with Copics,     and framed the image using the embossed rectangle from Spellbinders' Mix'd Media Elements.

The sentiment was framed using Spellbinders' new 2012 Heirloom Ornaments die.  I stamped the snowflake while the kraft paper was still in the die, and added some punched holly (Martha Stewart), some Tinsel ribbon (Webster's Pages), and some beautiful Rhinestones (Pizzaz Aplenty).

The border around the main panel was punched using a Martha Stewart Punch, and a Fiskars Wavy Crimper was used on the white.

That about sums this project all up.
Thanks for dropping by!
Happy Stamping!

Felt Gift Bag

Did you get an opportunity see the new Waltzingmouse Stamps released this month?  If not, you'll want to head on over to the store and check out all the new goodies and some inspirational projects to help enable you.  (*wink*)  Claire has designed the sweetest new Candy Wagon set.  I made a card using the wagon for the release, and it was a delight to work with.

I'm going to an art retreat soon and I thought it would be fun to make little goody bags for those joining me at my table for the "Meet and Greet" the first evening.  I made these bags last year at about this time using paper and felt.  I just changed the image, border and decorations.  You can find the tutorial HERE.  They're a perfect size to hold two Ghiradelli squares.  I'm only showing 4, but I made 10, and they go together pretty easily.

I used Spellbinders' Classic Petal Edgeabilities for the border, and their Create-A-Flake 3 die for the button embellishment.  I also used a red Gel Pen (Viva Decor) for the center of the wagon...with a little crystal glitter for some fun.  The flakes are also covered in glitter.

That's about it.
Hope you're having a great week!
Happy Stamping!

Waltzingmouse November 2012 Blog Waltz

Click HERE for today's Verve post.

Welcome to Day 4 of the Waltzingmouse Release Hops.  These wonderful new images are now available!!  Woo-Hoo!!  You can head on over to the Waltzingmouse store and place your orders!

But you might want to check out the Blog Hop first for some enabling.  (*wink*) If you've arrived here from Anya's blog, you're on the right track.

And don't forget you have an opportunity to win a stamp set of your choice.  All you have to do is leave comments on the blogs participating in the hop.  A random commenter will be picked and announced on Claire's blog Nov. 6.  You have until 6:59 am Eastern Time, Nov. 4th to comment.

We're featuring the charming Candy Wagon set today.  I've never seen anything like it, and if you like to give treats over the holidays, this is just the set for you.  It would work for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine's Day...whatever occasion you can think of!  It's so sweet! (pun intended... ;)

I stamped the cart using 4 inks:  Turquoise Gem and Red Magic (Versafine), Coffee Bean (Brilliance), and Latte (a muse).  The sentiments were stamped with French Roast (a muse)

The little sign on the top of the wagon is separate.  It can hang from the awning too since it has two little connecting chains.  I just cut them off and glued it to the awning instead.

Here's a close up of the little side sentiment.  I just love the phrase:  "a little sumpin' sumpin'"!!  How cute is that!!

Next up on the hop is the inspirational Becca!

I hope you've enjoyed hopping along this week.  I know I consider it pure joy to be able to work with these images that Claire so creatively designs.

Thanks so much for stopping by and for the encouraging comments.  They are a treasure!!
Happy stamping!
